THE BRITISH COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE ASSOCIATION

Inergetix, Inc. has been selected a member of the British Complementary Medicine Association.
  • The British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) is international in scope and was formed as an umbrella organisation to bring together all of the different complementary medicine associations to act as the representative voice and centre for information on each of the therapies.
The standards for membership set by the BCMA are designed to assure continuing quality and integrity of the products and services of its members. Inergetix, Inc. is the first American company to acquire membership in the BCMA.
  • The executives of the BCMA are all therapists who are entirely voluntary and therefore the BCMA does not have to make decisions which are based on monetary gain, a fact recognised by the Government.
  • The BCMA’s Chief Executive Officer is Keith Harmon. You can view details about him on www.keith-harmon.com
  • The membership together is immense which therefore means that the BCMA has been able to negotiate very favourable insurance rates for its members.
  • Like the AET, the BCMA has a website where members are able to advertise themselves free of charge and are also referred to if telephone enquiries are made for therapists or courses.
  • The BCMA also exhibits at the major nationwide health and therapy trade show held in the East of London each year and gives members the benefit of displaying their advertising brochures for a very modest fee. Being the major exhibition in the country, the visitors number in the thousands and so the financial outlay is minimal in cost whilst providing maximum exposure.
  • Because of the respect for the BCMA, the government invites the Chairman or the C.E.O to sit in and ask questions at Parliamentary meetings concerned with complementary medicine.
  • Such is the stature of the BCMA that many therapies have asked if the BCMA can be present to advise on the therapy’s progress on Voluntary Self Regulation (VSR), the Government’s initiative to govern the standards of therapies.
  • Although the membership by far consists of organisations who maintain strict standards of entry, the BCMA also has membership categories for teaching organisations, clinics and corporate bodies.
  • Entry to these forms of membership is not achieved by just paying a membership fee, as each applicant has to undergo an inspection which can last from a half day to a whole day.
  • It would be easy only to accept a membership fee, but in doing so the standards of each of our members would not be protected. By carrying out an inspection, every member will know that the applicant is working at a high standard and will not taint the other members by inferior work. It just takes one applicant with lower standards to make all members be regarded as inferior, and this would also damage the very good reputation that the BCMA has worked so long to maintain.
  • Maintaining standards is high on our list and this is achieved by the standard of the work of our membership.

THE ASSOCIATION OF ENERGY THERAPISTS

Inergetix, Inc. has qualified as a member of The Association of Energy Therapists (AET)
  • The Association of Energy Therapists (AET) was formed because of an awareness of the wide range of energy orientated therapies that were all acting randomly without a single voice to represent them.
  • It was important for these energy therapies to come together because at the time, the first rumblings of the Government’s thoughts of regulating all therapies were being voiced. Without such an organisation as the AET, energy therapists would not be listened to.
  • As the Government’s vision is now coming very much to the forefront, the membership of the AET is growing, and along with this membership growth, the concern for what the Government is trying to do in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) field is also growing.
  • The AET is not just about being the representative of energy therapists but also about helping its members to increase their business.
  • The AET has many calls from the public asking for details of their local energy therapist or for the details of courses as well as therapists who wish to join the AET.
  • The AET also has a website, www.energytherapists.org.uk where member’s names, locality and their therapies are listed. Those interested in joining the AET can also download the appropriate application forms.
  • Aware of the necessity for therapists to continue their development, the AET has from time to time arranged courses on a variety of subjects including anatomy and physiology, marketing for therapists and even dowsing for health.
  • Although the AET still is growing, it was realised even with the number of members we have, that there was still not enough members to make our voice really heard in Government circles. The step was then taken to affiliate with the British Complementary Medicine Association, regarded by many, including the Government, as the leading complementary therapy association.
